Powder Towpreg

Adherent Technologies' engineering team has developed a high-speed powder impregnation process that works with virtually any type of fiber. The process can handle 4 lines simultaneously and offers real time feedback throughout the entire process for total quality control. The process uses a variety of polymer powders at high speeds (>100 ft/min) which are sintered with infrared (IR) heating. Low-cost prepreg yarns and tapes can be prepared from a wide variety of composite reinforcements and matrix resins using this process. The powder-impregnation process may also be interfaced directly to filament winding, pultrusion, and braiding processes.
